Image-based content writer & visual SEO specialist
Vanya Rose
Vanya picks and writes the profile picture galleries on Latest PFP. She works on pages that are built around pictures, and on making sure those pictures can actually be found.
What she does here
On Latest PFP, Vanya chooses which pictures make it into a gallery, groups them by vibe and writes the text around them: the short intros, the section notes and the description behind every image.
Her rule for alt text is simple. It should describe what is in the picture, not repeat a keyword. That helps people who use screen readers, and it is also what lets an image turn up for the right search.
Background
Vanya has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, where she studied typography, visual hierarchy, image curation and how people read visual material.
She started out writing and tagging for image-led publishers: captions, descriptions and metadata. From there she moved into image search, working on filenames, alt text, structured data and image sitemaps. Today she does image-based content and visual search work for Infinity Linkers clients.
How she works
- Mood before keyword. People search for pictures in vague, mood-based language. She researches those phrases and builds pages around them.
- Descriptions that describe. Alt text, captions and image metadata are written for the picture in front of her.
- Collections stay current. Older galleries and categories get refreshed instead of being left to go stale.
- Seasonal and trend copy. She writes the text for collections that follow a season or a style as it spreads.
Away from the screen
She spends her time in galleries and camera shops, keeps her own archive of reference images, and tracks how visual styles move from one platform to the next.
